- My passion is about food and feeding people. My work as a chef led me closer and closer to the source of food to find the best ingredients, and a couple of years ago I started growing my own. That effort has been growing too, and now in my third season I am going to be able to help about a dozen families eat the way we should all be able to. I know that leaves quite a few others, but the good news is that urban farming and the number of urban farmers is really growing too. Portland, Oregon is at the hub of the urban farming movement, and we have evolved to a time when people will have a family farmer just like they have a family doctor. I also want to inspire others to grow some of their own food, develop a sense of where what they eat comes from, and get to know a little better the food they eat and the people like me that grow it.
